The curriculum management at UTS is understood as a systemic, dynamic, flexible and permanent process which the faculties, programs, academic support units and departments develop through the curriculum committees and teachers, with the purpose of assuring the reflective understanding of the curriculum along with characteristics such as relevance, flexibility, comprehensiveness, cross- interdisciplinarity and internationalization according to the curriculum of the academic programs.
In this respect, the institutional curriculum management framework is particularly interested in ensuring the operationalization of the Institutional Education Project (PEI) and the achievement of its pedagogical model. Meanwhile, the PEI is constituted as a consensus and guiding document in relation to the desired goals as well as with the institutional identity configuration which should be managed by the social group in the light of the great missionary purposes.
The curriculum management includes the following stages: analysis of relevance, design, creation, implementation, development and curricular evaluation, which are supported by its permanent improvement.
The macrocurricular level responds to the characteristics of the international stage, the agreements, declarations and the goals adopted by consensus by international agencies in the path towards academic excellence in higher education.
The microcurriculum level refers to the achievement of the mission-vision expressed in the Institutional Educational Project, its bylaws and the UTS institutional pedagogical model.
